Frequently asked questions.

What if I need help right now?

If you are currently in crisis, at acute medical risk, or at immediate risk of harm to yourself or others please contact 000 or present to your nearest hospital Emergency Department.

If you require more information about how to manage a mental health crisis, call the NSW Mental Health Access Line on 1800 011 511 (24/7).

If you need immediate counselling support call Lifeline 13 11 14 (24/7).

Do I need a referral to see you?

If you wish to claim a portion of the session fees through Medicare, you will need a referral from your GP. Please bring a copy of your referral letter, plan (e.g: Mental Health Care Plan or Eating Disorder Care Plan) and any other relevant reports or letters from other medical or health professionals to your first appointment, or send them in an email prior to your first appointment.

If you would like to attend as a private client, you do not need a referral. Most private health funds provide rebates for psychological services depending on your level of cover. Contact your health fund to find out if you are eligible.

What are your fees?

We offer a range of fees depending on your financial situation, whether you are attending through Medicare or paying privately, the time of day you attend and the type of appointment.

You may be eligible for a rebate through Medicare, or your private health fund depending on your level of cover.

Please contact us to discuss further.

What will happen at my first appointment?

We are currently offering sessions via telehealth only.

For telehealth sessions, your psychologist will provide you with a link via email prior to your appointment to attend your session on a secure platform. You may like to log on to your appointment a few minutes early to test that your equipment is functioning well.

During your first appointment your psychologist will:

  • Conduct a thorough assessment in order to develop a good understanding of the problem and the context around the problem, your background and current circumstances

  • Answer any questions that you may have about the problem, treatment or processes

  • Provide you with an evidence-based treatment plan, tailored to your specific concerns

The duration of the initial appointment is typically 90mins, and subsequent appointments are typically 50mins.

Is there anyone who you do not work with?

We are not currently taking new referrals for:

  • Individuals aged 17 years and younger

  • Couples therapy

  • Anyone seeking cognitive assessments

  • Individuals seeking treatment under work cover

  • Individuals seeking a court report

  • Individuals experiencing acute symptoms of psychosis
